On July 2, local time, the ceremony for the 19th European Inventor Award was held in Berlin, Germany, where the European Patent Office (EPO) announced this year's global winners list.

Inventors YU Haijun and XIE Yinghao, along with their research and development team, from Guangdong Brunp Recycling Technology Co., Ltd., based in China, secured both the award in the Non-EPO Countries category and the Popular Prize for their smart battery-directed recycling technology. This made them the only innovation team in this year's selection to secure two major awards simultaneously.
